Sainte-Croix Chapel

"Rooted in the rock, it has defied time, centuries of turmoil, centuries of solitude, moments of peace."

Many mysteries surround the history of this witness from a distant past. This 13th-century Gothic chapel is the only monument in the city of Forbach listed in 1937. Severely dilapidated, it has been fully restored from 1977 to the present day. Nestled in its wooded setting, it is one of the entry points to the Way of St. James in France, on the route classified as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. German pilgrims come here to have their credentials stamped.

A place of pilgrimage, welcome, and listening, a haven of peace and meditation, the chapel is open all year round, from 8 AM until dusk.
