Tea is served, cakes are ready. In Issam Rachyq-Ahrad's mother's home, the living room is a refuge, a world apart where everything is said in hushed tones. But outside, it's a different story. In 2019, when a veiled woman is publicly taken to task by an elected member of the Rassemblement National, the actor sees his own memories come flooding back: a childhood between Molière and social injunctions, and above all a mother who gave everything without ever asking for anything. With humor and emotion, he chooses to portray her, to let her speak, and to question our relationship to identity, heritage and the Republic. With his intimate and powerful one-man show, Issam invites us to listen to those who are too often silenced, and to rethink the contours of our living together.
